Devlog update
Savage Horizons » Devlog

This week I’ve been working on polishing both the gameplay and the level design in the cavern area of the game.
- Enemy balancing: I adjusted the number of enemies and also reworked the sound effects for their attacks so that encounters feel more dynamic and satisfying. Battles should now feel a little tougher, but also clearer in terms of audio feedback.
- Jetpack improvements: One of the big focuses of this update was refining the Jetpack ability. I spent time adjusting its parameters to make it more fun, more precise, and overall more enjoyable to use. The controls should now feel smoother and give players more confidence when maneuvering in mid-air.
- Environment polish: I also worked on polishing the upper section of the cavern in the blue zone. The scenery and obstacles were tweaked so that they both fit the atmosphere better and create a natural training ground where players can gradually learn how to master the Jetpack.
- Guided progression: To make sure players don’t skip this practice area, I sealed off the return path to Cave Entrance #1. This change forces progression upward and ensures that everyone experiences the intended challenge and learning curve before moving forward.
Overall, this update makes the cavern section more structured, visually appealing, and gameplay-oriented, while making the Jetpack a central part of the adventure.
